First things first… I had to check out the Volcom park.

Too much snow to skate most of it.

But that didnt stop us.

Far and away the most unique features of any skatepark I’ve seen. You can do stalls and wallrides on all the rocks. You could skate here everyday and find some new tranny.

Needless to say, I spent several hours sesssioning the mini bowls and rock jibs. The locals were friendly and the weather was perfect.

A memorial to Jeff Anderson. A pro snowboarder who died a few years back. His brother Billy and the fellas at Volcom designed and built this monument to skateboarding in his memory.

Not to mention the best features were buried in snow. I could spend a week just camped out in the parking lot skating this place if it was dry… a must for summer.

So I headed up to Convict Lake for the sunset.

Laurel Mountain and the main couloir falling from the summit. Doesnt look like it but theres a pretty clean line right down the middle.

Mount Morrison and Little Morrison to the left.

And an epic sunset experience over the Sierras.

I love it here already.
